Coconutrug® has been an autonomous trademark since 1998.
In Coconutrug® we find the fusion of a propensity towards Nature, a new functional approach and intense touch-sensitivity, concepts which have always characterized G.T.DESIGN. Like all other natural fibres, Coconutrug® is subject to colour variations when in contact with daylight, just like denim fabric, and changes with use. This is also part of the appeal of Coconutrug®: the rug is Alive.
Those who wish to be close to natural products must understand all their aspects; appreciating the values means knowing and accepting the limitations, knowing that their choice to favour natural materials contributes to the protection of the surrounding environment.
Made from the most valued coconut fibre, Coconutrug® is irreplaceable when it comes to requiring a filter for the floor (for example, in ground floor rooms), in high traffic areas, in homes with pets, holiday homes at the seaside or in the mountains. Coconut fibre is thermo-insulating, anti-static, resistant to fungi and mould, hard-wearing and versatile. It is obtained from easily renewable sources and sustains the economy of entire tropical countries favouring their sustainable development. The rugs have no latex backing in order to avoid the build up of dust and, therefore, to facilitate cleaning and make the product more hygienic.
Coconutrug rugs are available in the following colours:
Arancio Tibet, Giallo Curry, Grigio Argilla, Grigio Fango, Grigio Ghiaia, Grigio Lava, Marrone TerraPaglia, Marrone TerraScura, Naturale, Naturale Chiaro, Naturale SabbiaRossa, Ombre Calde, Pigmenti Gialli, Rosa Indonesia, Rosso Ibiscus, Settembre, Terracotta, Verde Irlanda and Verde Paglia
Maintenance:
- Coconutrug is packaged in a jute sack, to flatten the surface, simply extract the rug and lay it upside-down.
- The rug requires a period of stabilisation in which the fibres relax, and sometimes release residual grains of sand from the drying process
- Avoid lengthy exposure to direct sunlight (natural fibres are photosensitive)
- To clean, simply brush with a broom or use a carpet beater
- For safety, we recommend using a non-slip under-mat, indispensable on wooden floors or carpets, also to prevent any colour staining.
