The rug is an ancestral symbol: it's at our feet, like the earth upon which we take our first steps. It is in some way primitive and, perhaps for this reason, it is the first element that suggests the intimate atmosphere of a home:  it's almost a large page from a diary recounting habits, dreams, follies and poetry. But in this archaism that permeates it, it knows how to be unpredictably modern, ready to materialize our territorial boundaries.
